Fever Pitch follows a soccer fan's quest for true love during the course of Arsenal's Championship winning season of 1989-90 and stars Colin Firth in one of his breakthrough roles.

Paul Ashworth (Firth), an English teacher in his thirties, is passionate about Arsenal. As the season and the film progress, the club has a chance of winning the league for the first time in 18 years. Meanwhile, his on-off romance with fellow-teacher and non-football fan, Sarah, mirrors the Gunners’ fluctuating season.
