Another Country was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, where cinematographer Peter Biziou won the Best Artistic Contribution award. The film was also nominated for three BAFTAs for Adapted Screenplay, Editing and Outstanding Newcomer (Rupert Everett).
